About Drake University

Drake University is a co-educational, private university, located in the City of Des Moines, IA, USA, which was founded in 1881, by Francis Marion Drake, who was Governor of Iowa between 1896 and 1898 and resident of Centerville, IA.

Drake University's Law School is the oldest law school in the west area of the Mississippi River and it was established by Chester C. Cole, in 1865, who served on the Iowa Supreme Court between 1864 and 1876.
